What is a gambeson?
A gambeson is a padded garment worn under armour to cushion against impact and stop metal chafing the skin. At Chows Emporium these are made thinner than traditional gambesons, in a soft cotton blend, so they work as a base layer under leather armour or as standalone outerwear for warrior and fighter characters. Thinner by design
Traditional gambesons are built thick for steel-weapon reenactment, which makes them heavy, stiff, and hot to fight in for hours. Chow took the same padded shape and cut it down. The result sits lighter on the shoulders, moves with you through a fight, and washes in a machine after a muddy weekend. It carries the look of a seasoned fighter without committing to a full armour set. Pair one with vambraces, a belt, and trousers for a complete kit.
Layering
