Ranger and archer LARP costumes and outfit sets for the woodland character build. From Chow's Forest Ranger, Forest Guardian, Forest Wild Ranger, Dark Ranger, Forest Fighter and Woodland Archer ranges. Built for scout, hunter, archer and forest druid character types worn across Empire, Lorien Trust, Drachenfest, Bicolline and ConQuest of Mythodea.
A ranger costume is layered for movement, not for combat
The ranger archetype rewards layering. A base layer under a fitted body piece, a four-way cloak that sheds for sprinting and wraps when still, a head covering for weather. Add forearm protection and a wide leather belt, and the silhouette is unmistakable in any forest light.
How different LARP systems read the ranger
Empire's Navarri scouts and Wintermark thanes lean into wool, fur trim, earthy palette. Lorien Trust's wood elves take the same archetype lighter, green wool and finer detail. Curious Pastimes carries the brutal hunter end. Drachenfest's German factions cross into the heavier Forest Wild Ranger silhouette. The archetype is consistent; palette and fabric weight shift.
Chow has been designing for these systems and trading at Empire and Lorien events since the 90s. Each Chows Emporium ranger set reads across multiple system aesthetics rather than tying to a single faction.
What's in the Chows ranger range
The Forest Ranger Set is the workhorse, in 5, 6 and 7-piece versions. The full kit centres on a green wool-blend Four-Way Cloak with four styling options from the LARP Cloaks & Robes collection. The Forest Guardian Outfit layers an ornate green fur-mantle piece on top, with matching vambraces sitting in LARP Leather Armour. The Forest Wild Ranger leans heavier with a brown wool layer. The Dark Ranger Set carries the same layered structure in black. The Woodland Archer Set is the entry-level 2-piece option.
One kit, several characters
The forest archetype crosses easily. A ranger shifts to hunter, archer, scout or forest druid mid-event with no costume change. Add vambraces and the kit reads ranger; drop the heavy outer layer and the archer build sharpens. The lighter base layers sit in LARP Tunics & Viking Shirts and the leg accessories in LARP Leg & Arm Wraps. All Chows Emporium products are one size, with measurements on each individual product page if you have a question about measurements before ordering.
A forest character at first light, outer layer wrapped, hood up, arrow nocked. Worn at Drachenfest, Empire, ConQuest of Mythodea, Lorien Trust, Bicolline and Curious Pastimes.
