Mage, wizard and sorcerer LARP outfit sets for the spellcaster, battle mage, enchanter, woodland wizard and dark caster character builds. From Chow's Spellcaster, Battle Mage Light, Winter Enchanter, Forest Guardian and Apprentice ranges, designed since 1994. Browse the full range above.

Play a wizard, mage or sorcerer and the robe is the costume

Pull a mage look apart and one piece carries it: the full-length layer that runs shoulder to ankle. Everything else is supporting cast. Chow has been designing this kind of costume since 1994, and the Chows Emporium range covers four fabric weights for four character moods.

Herringbone wool: the scholar and councillor build

Herringbone wool is the base of the scholar, councillor and learned-mage character. The Apprentice is the foundation piece, full-length unisex with hidden pockets, worn open or belted. The Winter Enchanter Set builds out from there with a two-tone jacket-tunic and a quartz necklace, taking the look toward a more senior mage with rank.

Two-tone wool blend: the Battle Mage build

The Battle Mage Light Set is the combat-ready end of the range. A hooded mid-length wool-blend outer with metal clasps, a two-tone cotton-linen layer underneath, a woollen wrap with metal accessories. The four-piece version adds an ornate faux fur and faux leather hood with matching vambraces from LARP Leather Armour, both fleece-lined. This is the build for mages who fight, who carry weapons, who need the silhouette to read across a battlefield.

Cotton and textured wool: the Spellcaster and Forest Guardian

The Spellcaster Set is the lighter option, with a hooded sleeveless outer in textured wool-mix over a collarless cotton layer and a multi-pattern cotton wrap. Easy to layer over base pieces or armour from LARP Coats & Waistcoats. The Forest Guardian Set goes denser: a high-collar green wool-blend outer, a sage-pattern wool wrap-around piece from LARP Hoods & Mantles, ornate faux leather forearm guards with a dagger loop, and an Aztec-pattern wrap. Both reach beyond pure wizard into cleric, herbalist, alchemist, priest, paladin and shaman builds.

      One piece, many characters

A wizard at Empire is an enchanter at Drachenfest, a cleric at Curious Pastimes, a shaman at Bicolline. The Chow design carries through every system. The lighter base pieces are part of the LARP Tunics & Viking Shirts collection. All Chows Emporium products are one size, with measurements on each individual product page if you have a question about measurements before ordering.

Worn at Drachenfest, ConQuest of Mythodea, Bicolline, Empire and Curious Pastimes.
